OUR STORY

Filmmaker and Kent State Assistant Professor Dana White conceived of For the Ages in the Spring of 2020. Deeply troubled by our society's disregard for our elders during this unprecedented pandemic, Dana set out to create a project that would seek to bring honor, comfort and a voice to our elder communities. Hence The For the Ages Project.

In collaboration with her incredibly talented Kent State filmmaking/writing students, For The Ages is evolving into a group of artists passionate about the stories and lives of our elders.

For the Ages has begun a Creative Alliance with The Wick Poetry Center, and its director David Hassler. From this exciting collaboration, we have begun to explore the art of Film Poetry. Poems written by elders through the Wick Poetry Center are being realized by our For the Ages Filmmakers in the form of Film Poetry. By bringing the art of film and poetry together, we seek to have a collective voice illuminating the stories of our elders.
